Well this Month 20 installment is officially late - sorry about that! We've been traveling and I haven't had much time for blogging. :) But...better late than never!
Month 20 was all about pumpkins for us!
We went to a pumpkin race festival in Manhattan Beach. I think that Avalon and John are going to compete next year! :) You have to build a platform with wheels for a pumpkin and send your pumpkin down a hill on a racecourse. The winning pumpkin is the fastest pumpkin that goes straight down the hill - most go sideways. Here are a few pictures from the day out:

Yes, Avalon is wearing a little giraffe backpack...this was the first time she wore it - it's actually a little harness. The giraffe's tail is a "leash"...it kept her from running too far away from us in a crowded place. She's gotten pretty good at staying close though, so I don't think that it will get much use.

We also carved some pumpkins at home for Halloween. We thought that Avalon would be excited by it, but honestly, she didn't want to put her hand inside the pumpkin and get it dirty! John and I each carved a pumpkin while Avalon and Bronte watched. :)

Avalon had a Halloween photoshoot from our favorite photographer, Gloria Plunkett. She got some great shots of Avalon dressed up as a peacock...

Our Mommy and Me class celebrated Halloween, too. Avalon didn't want to wear the big costume - so she wore a little flower headpiece instead. In this picture, Avalon is trying to get out the door to go play outside while all of the other kids are sitting in a circle singing with the teacher!

Halloween evening was fun, too. Again Avalon put the peacock costume on and we went over to the Comstock's house for some trick-o-treating and a party. Avalon was pretty excited about getting candy in her basket - - I think that John ate it all though!

I started taking Avalon to a dance class in Brentwood in October with a couple other friends and their kids. Avalon is semi-interested...I'm not convinced that she actually likes this class too much!
We also had a quick getaway to Seattle to spend time with some friends and remember last year's passing of our dear friend, Sara.
