What an awesome week! Week 53 was a week of vacation and relaxation.... We went to Mexico and stayed at Barcelo - near Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo in the Golden Corridor.
We had a great time...mostly just swimming and a bit (too much) eating. First, to make everyone wish that they had gone with us, here are some pictures of the resort:
Avalon has been to Cabo three times now, but this was Aria's first trip to Mexico. Both girls loved being in the pool.
The food was good but the desserts were better. Avalon got ice cream most nights...here she is savoring it!
There were some performances at the resort that we checked out. The first night, there was a disney/kids thremed show and Avalon got brought on stage. She was in absolute awe of the singer dressed like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Avalon thought that the girl was a real princess!
Luckily, Aria was happy to take her morning naps out by the pool!
Aria started using a fork while we were in Mexico! Pretty funny...but she is actually ok at it! At times there were quite a few dropped forks strewn around below her high chair.

Aria's first birthday (8/30) happened while we were in Mexico. Avalon was excited to give Aria a little present that she had picked out...three books and a water bottle that matches the one that she had. Aria was pretty excited, too!

The next morning at breakfast the staff gave Aria a piece of chocolate cake with 'happy birthday' written on it! No, she didn't actually eat it.....but Avalon did take a bit or two!

We had so much fun! Hopefully we will be able to go back again next year. :)
When we got home, Aria had her one year pediatrician appointment. She is 25.5 pounds and 31 inches. That is 100th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight (based on height). Big girl!
Summer is now coming to an end...Avalon is going to start preschool...I am going to refocus on Javont...and John is going to be traveling more for work...lots of changes in the air.
