Aria (Week 11) and Avalon (Month 32)

Hi all,

Another week flew by...we are getting truly into the swing of the holiday season. It's getting a bit colder here, my parents are in Southern California, and we've been baking cookies! Fun times!

While we were shopping, Avalon went for a little ride in a yellow car/truck thing...she gets so excited about these rides. Good thing I had some quarters with me! :)

Aria was not quite as excited that Avalon was going for a ride.... :)

The girls spending some time together!

Avalon is VERY SERIOUS about her role as a Big Sister. Yesterday, Avalon had a playdate with another two year old. That girl's mom is pregnant, and I said to the girl "Are you excited that you are going to be a big sister soon? I'm sure you are going to be a great big sister"...and suddenly Avalon was hysterically crying!! I asked her what was wrong and she said that she didn't want the other girl to take away her big sister role! She was so upset thinking that she wouldn't have Aria as a little sister anymore. I explained to her that the other girl was going to be a big sister too - but not for Aria. Avalon calmed down, but she asked the other girl to stay away from Aria!

We had some fun playtime at Valley Park...

Well, Avalon had fun...not sure if Aria is loving it!

We went to a car museum in El Segundo with my parents. John found it online and it was surprisingly cool....about 100 old cars in perfect condition. A bunch of them had been used in movies.

Avalon waiting to go inside and showing off her cool shoes. :)

I want a car like this!

Avalon ripped a box of Kleenex apart the other morning while I was brushing my teeth. :) She apparently wanted something soft to jump in!

And...we had a minor hair cutting disaster. :) Avalon bangs ("fringe" for those of you in Oz), are a little shorter and much more jagged than intended. Long story...short hair! Oops! Of course, she still looks pretty darn cute.

Dark photo, but my mom is rocking Aria into a very happy state!

Giving a little smile...

Aria is doing well and growing fast. At her two month checkup, she was 25 inches long and 15.9 pounds. At this rate, Aria may end up being taller than Avalon!

And, my dad...aka "pop pop" to Avalon. Yes, he's grown a little beard!

Hope that everyone is getting ready for Thanksgiving. We are looking forward to cooking up the turkey and spending some nice time together.

All our love, xo

Aria (Week Ten) and Avalon (Month 32)

Hi all,

Week 10 is here...and there is good news and bad news.

The bad news is that there are only a few pictures to post for this week. John and I have both had intense colds, so my photo-snapping has been slowed down a bit...but luckily the girls are both healthy! The good news is that I am posting them on time! :)

So without further ado...

Aria cuddling with her big sister.

Her peepers are still blue...pretty much my color...

My big girl loves to have her picture taken...although these days it can be hard to get a smile!

Looking serious...I guess these are the types of looks they will give me with they are teenagers. :) I think they were ready for me to put the camera down!

Avalon in the waiting room - very excited! - before her second tooth cleaning at the dentist.

Getting comfortable in the big dental chair!

Explaining to the dental hygienist that she loves the tooth polish that she is using because it is pink.

Getting the final check from the dentist. Yes, there are 20 teeth in there, and yes, they are perfect. Avalon got a toothbrush (she requested a pink princess one!), some bubble soap, 2 Dora the Explorer stickers, and a pink matchbox car. Ha! Seriously, if I had not seen it with my own eyes, I would not have believed that ANYONE could have as much fun at the dentist as Avalon did! She loved it...and is still talking about what a good time it was! :)!!!!!

Sisters gazing into each other's eyes....

And in very exciting Javont news....our US Trademark was approved! We continue to strive to move this tiny little business forward. We would love your support. Please check us out at www.javont.com

Hope that everyone is getting ready for the holidays. Thanksgiving is on our doorstep, and so is Aria's baptism. Lots of fun times ahead.

All our love, xo

Aria (Week Nine) and Avalon (Month 32)

Hi all,

These weeks are flying by! Honestly, it's been hard to find time to update the blog each week with photos now that I have two little ones to look after. I hope that someone is actually looking at this stuff! :)

Avalon and Aria got to enjoy their Grandma for a few more days during week 9. Thanks again for taking the time to come and visit us...John and I, and of course the girls, really loved it.

We went out to sushi and when Avalon saw John's sake glass, she cried until we asked the waitress to bring her one, too. Avalon drank water out of it, and thought it was so cool. Hmmm...note to self to hide any shot glasses that we have at home! At least until Avalon is 30-ish. :)

Then the "sugar song" came on the radio (long story...) and Avalon got her groove on!

On John's mom's last day with us, we went to the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and had a drink. Avalon got a HUGE slushy drink with whipped cream...her first (perhaps last - ha!)...and about 15 minutes later like clockwork she started dancing. :) Yes, serious sugar rush.

Aria is more alert these days with longer and longer periods of awake time.

And one of the final fun things that we enjoyed with John's mom was a trip to Adventure Plex in Manhattan Beach. Here is Avalon jumping into the ball pit...

We went to a birthday party for our neighbor who turned one. Since his birthday is on October 31, it was a Halloween themed party. Avalon wore her ice-cream cone costume for a few minutes, but then was done with it!

John helped Avalon to break the pinata open! The kids at the party were very excited. :) I helped her to take a swing at the pinata, too.

And...my parents came into town, also! Wow, the girls are enjoying lots of grandparent time these days. Lucky!! In these photos, Avalon has her face painted with a pink crown. It was Halloween and Avalon was at Art Zone earlier in the day, hence the painting.

We carved a pumpkin!

The finished product.

Avalon LOVED trick o treating on Halloween! She was so excited! At the last minute, she decided that she did not want to be an ice cream cone, but that she wanted to be a pink princess instead!! Two years old and already calling the shots! Luckily I had a princess dress that fit her. :) It was chilly, she she had a jacket on over the dress...

And here she is getting back into the car after the fun....I seriously couldn't get her to slow down to take any pictures of her during the trick o treating. She collected a bunch of tasty looking candy...hopefully John will eat most of it!

And a few shots of Miss Aria...

Avalon trying on some vampire teeth!

Pop Pop meeting Aria for the first time...

Holding hands with Pop Pop...love this picture.

The girls!

And finally, the photos from the Halloween Photo Shoot. Aria was three weeks old in these pictures. Avalon was a ice cream cone and Aria was a kitty. :)

Happy Halloween, everyone! And happy November. I love this time of year....Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years. So much festive fun. Hope that you are all getting in the mood.
