February 2014

Hi all,

Avalon's birthday month started out with a fun trip to Disneyland!  The girls had been asking to go for a long time, and they were so excited when we told them that it was finally happening!

Avalon got to celebrate her birthday in her Whales preschool class at Sand Tots!  I made cupcakes for her to share with the other kids in class.

Avalon also had a fun school field trip - her first ever!  We went to the Redondo Beach post office where she mailed a letter and learned about how the mail system works.

After two months of Aria running wild at gymnastics, I decided to stop those lessons for now.  Instead, we go to Art Zone on a Thursday now so that the girls can go crazy making art!

Valentine's Day!  Wearing red for the Valentine's celebrations at preschool.

I made heart shaped cookies to share with the kids in Aria's preschool class...yum!

Avalon got to take "Joey" the whale, her classroom mascot home for her birthday weekend!  She was so excited....she took Joey everywhere, and slept with it.  There were a few tears when she had to return Joey!!!

Another huge burst of excitement was that I took the girls to the movies to see Frozen!  They were beyond happy!  This was Aria's first movie theatre experience.  They have been singing the Frozen music ever since...

But the big February news is that someone turned FIVE....!!!!
Yes, our first baby is now a very big girl!  Avalon is five.  John and I have been parents for five years....it's an amazing thing how fast the girls are growing up.  I wish that it would slow down a little...

We had a party for Avalon at the Clark Building in Hermosa Beach.  Avalon wanted a mermaid theme.  She had about 30 friends, and 40 adults at the party.  We all had a great time.  Avalon truly enjoyed every second of it!!

We put some activities together for the kids....mermaid and pirate dress up, decorate a mermaid crown, mermaid and pirate ship coloring, cupcake decorating, pinata, pin-the-tail on the mermaid, and face painting.

Goodie jars that I put together :)

What a birthday celebration!  Both girls thoroughly loved it.
February was one to remember.
all our love, xo
