Week 49 was a fun filled week in Seattle. Not just fun filled, but actually sun filled! There were a few Seattle clouds, but lots of hot sunshine. It was a perfect week for fun with the kids and my parents and a great birthday party in honor of my mom's birthday.
One of our first stops was Remlinger Farms in Carnation, Washington. It was so much fun - the perfect activity for kids. Rides, food, animals, interactive stuff to do. This will be a great day for the girls whenever we are in Seattle for a long time.
This horse, Apple, was too tall for Avalon and she started crying right after this picture was taken. We later convinced her to "get back in the saddle" and try again on a shorter horse...
This little boat made her cry, too! Oops....she wanted someone to get in with her, but I didn't think that it would still float!
Have you ever seen anyone look so satisfied eating a cookie?
A few more tears on Peaches the Horse (notice how short she is), but then Avalon got her confidence and rode around on her....and she had a great time! Sometimes the unknown can be scary...
Digging in the sand with Pop Pop.
There was a cool hay jump and hay maze. Avalon literally had hay falling out of her shoes, pants, shirt, hair, etc afterwards.
Pig rides with Grandma! :)
We also went to a fun storytime at the local library where a circus performer, Ms Sarah Sparrow, was there. She performed and then helped the kids learn some tumbling. There were some other circus themed things for the kids. We sat through TWO iterations of the storytime since Avalon was so into it.
Aria got in on the action, too. :)
Balance beam...
Splashing around in a very mini pool in the backyard at Grandma and Pop Pop's house on a hot day!
Aria was chewing on a ear of UNCOOKED corn! I tried to take it from her, then realized how much fun she was having!
Everyone gets fun rides through the grass when Pop Pop is around!
Having a bath in the big spa tub! Lots of room for splashing!
John arrived in Seattle on Thursday, and we took a little family trip to the Space Needle! It was fun to tour around. I thought that John and I had been up to the top before, but it was his first time. I hadn't been up in 10 years or so.
We spent some time with our friends, Craig and Isabel. We swam at their lake - even Aria got in the water.
Lots of silly times at Grandma and Pop Pop's house...
Helping Grandma to open her birthday present! Happy Birthday, Mom!!! A perfect day for a birthday party. We hope that you had fun with all of your friends. We love you. xo
Our trip back home was great. We flew back on Sunday, August 5....just in time to celebrate another big family birthday: John's! His birthday was August 6. He decided that he wanted to go for a swim at the beach with the family after work. So we packed up our sand castle gear and headed out. :)
Avalon is showing how Aria likes to eat sand!
After some beach fun, we headed home for birthday dinner and presents.
Yes, that is a birthday surfboard. John was extra lucky this year. :) Happy Birthday, hubby! We love you!
All our love,
J, J + A and a
