Avalon is trying hard to control her neck/head on her own. She's strong and can lift her head up, but gets tired and face-plants into our chests pretty often!
She's been giving mini-smiles for a while, but in the last couple of days they are changing. Now her smiles are bigger and it's clear that they are intentional - mainly in reaction to smiles and silly sounds from John and I. Little gorgeous smiles are just what us sleep deprived new parents need! :)
Here are some photographs from the week:
1. Avalon sleeping in her favorite day-time position (on her side) on the couch
2. Eyes wide open in her bassinet
3. My Mom was in town for the past 2 weeks to help (thanks Mom!). Avalon just loved having her around, too! Here they are...

4. Avalon all cozy in Grandma's arms
5. Our friends Todd and Paula gave us this "activity gym" for Avalon... Avalon loves it! Bronte (our doggie) really wants to get below it and play, too...
