July 2013

Hi all,

July was another great month...with a trip to Seattle, our Block Party, Summer sibling Mommy and Me classes, beach and pool time, and a few fun birthday celebrations.

First of all, Aria's hair is growing like crazy!  The rest of her is growing, too...the baby phase is ending.  Words are starting to tumble out of her mouth, also.  It's an amazing thing to watch as she nears her second birthday.  Such rapid development.

Avalon is growing like a weed, too.  It's hard for me to tell on a daily basis, but I can see by the clothes that she is constantly outgrowing that she is getting very, very tall!

We had out 6th Annual Carver Street Block Party this year.  It was a great sunny day and everyone really enjoyed themselves.  We had around 75 people, and had a visit from the fire department and ice cream truck.

Avalon loves to get dressed up for birthday parties!

More fun times swimming at the El Segundo toddler pool.  Both girls are getting better in the water - and both are getting very tan!

Yet another birthday party....this one was for our friend, Lucy, who turned three.  It was at My Gym in Redondo Beach - a very popular destination for kids parties.  :)

One of Aria's favorite activities these days is packing up the dolly stroller with dolls/stuffed animals and driving it around.  She loves to put on sunglasses (sometimes upside down), grab baby keys and a little bag, and say "bye bye mama"....and then drive her stroller away!

We've been taking a sibling Mommy and Me class this summer.  It meets two days a week and is great since both girls can participate.  There is lots of water play, gardening, dress up, singing and dancing, tons of arts/crafts, and a big play structure, too.  They LOVE it.

Beach days....  Avalon is not afraid of the waves anymore!  Aria is...she likes to hold hands or get picked up, then she says frantically "oceay is coming, oceay is coming"!

We bought a big wagon that we've been taking to the beach and to the summer concerts in the park in Manhattan Beach.  The girls love riding in it, and it has been great for hauling all the food and wine to the park.  :)

More fun at the beach and at Mommy and Me class...

Ah...the 4th of July!  We started with a birthday party on the beach for a friend, then ended the day with the annual Comstock party.  There was a kid parade, which was so fun!  The bartenders that Rhonda hired that were serving Cadillac margaritas weren't bad either.  :)

The beach is so fun, we just can't stay away...

I took the girls to Seattle for a week in July.  John wasn't able to go with us this time, because he was traveling with work.  We had fun with my parents.  The girls LOVED their huge house...running around and getting lost in the rooms.  They also loved running in between the living room to the outside.  They helped Grammy in the garden, picking and eating strawberries.  The played in the sprinkler, drove Cole the dog crazy, and work Grammy and Pop Pop up each morning.  They helped Pop Pop in the garage with the tools.  And, they loved the annual trip to Remlinger Farms.  So special...

When we got home from Seattle, we resumed our Mommy and Me classes.

The girls modeling the robot outfits they made in class...

The end of July brought another birthday for me.  John kindly just put a "3" on the top of my cake.  :)

And, the final day of Mommy and Me class came too soon...

One very dressed up Avalon!

Hope that your July was as full, loving, and sunny as our was.  The girls make every day special over here.

All our love, xo
J, J + A and a
