October 2014

Hi all,

October is a fun month with kids, for sure!  One of my favorite activities all year is the annual trip to the pumpkin patch.  The girls posed for a thousand photos, then rode ponies, feed some goats, and got their faces painted.  Fun times!

Just to keep me on my toes, my new Kindergartner also LOST HER FIRST BABY TOOTH!  We were out to dinner with our neighbors and it feel out and Avalon said "Uh oh, Mommy, we have a problem" - and everyone just laughed!  We went home and I helped her to write a note to the Tooth Fairy.

The Morning After....  Yes!  The Tooth Fairy DID visit Avalon!  And it brought her a silver box filled with a new tooth brush, some flossers, some coins, and a $5 bill.  She was very excited.  Aria was too, until she started crying that the tooth fairy hadn't visited her.  So, amazingly, a small blue box suddenly appeared with some flossers for Aria and a few coins and $1.  Finally, there was peace in the house.  :)

The girls dressed up for school - Avalon wearing her dress backwards for backwards day.  Aria was dressed up in her Sheriff Callie outfit (thanks mom and dad) for her Sand Tots Halloween Parade.

And a few shots of Aria at preschool playing and in the costume parade.

Our Carver Street neighbors met up to carve pumpkins, which was a lot of fun!  The girls are still scared to touch the 'goop' inside the pumpkin, though.  Good thing that John is not scared.  :)

This is Avalon's Kindergarten class.  I work in her class once a week, which I love.

Avalon loves that she is able to visit Sand Tots when we pick Aria up from preschool (since Avalon's Kindergarten class ends 20 minutes before Aria's class).  Avalon loves to sit in Teacher Jeanie's class for the final few minutes and hear the end of day story.

And finally, the big day:  Halloween!  Avalon dressed as Cinderella.  Aria was Sheriff Callie.

Avalon had a costume parade in Kindergarten.  Here is her whole class, plus Aria who refused to not be in the photo!

The girls both started taking ballet and tap in September.  Here is Aria in her class during the week of Halloween.  She wore her costume for part of class.

Halloween Trick-o-Treating could not come fast enough for Avalon and Aria!  We went to the annual party at the Comstock's house, then to the after party at our neighbor's place.  The girls collected tons of candy, but barely ate any.  That is what I call success!  :)

Happy October, everyone!

All our love, xo
